Spooky Halloween Events Near You 2019
16 October, 2020

Halloween, All Hallows' Eve, All Souls' Day — whatever the name, we look forward to the spooky events of October. Planning your costume, decorating your home, and indulging in some confectionary treats top the list of things to do. To revel and celebrate in good company, we have compiled a list of the best events happening in Michigan this season.
Auburn Hills
Calling all builders, young and old! Brick or Treat is underway at LegoLand, complete with photo ops, hands-on Halloween builds, and all the original magic of LegoLand. Kids and parents alike can spend all day practicing their skills and joining in some non-scary Halloween fun. Tickets are available online with a discount of nearly 40% off — and with events running until the end of October, there is plenty of time to visit.
Mason
Are haunted houses more your thing? Mason, Michigan is home to plenty of farmland that transforms into spooky grounds this time of year. Shawhaven Haunted Farm boasts a 5-pumpkin scare rating — which is about as scary as it gets. Its 140 acres make room for hayrides, mazes, and even an escape room. The terror takes place every weekend through November.
Grand Rapids
This one is for all the pet parents out there looking to partake in some "Howl-oween" fun. Dress up your fur baby and put them on display alongside other adorable pets. Sign up for the pet Halloween costume contest, take pictures in the photo booth, and grab an adult beverage while you mingle with the crowd. An afternoon event, it's a great alternative way to celebrate the holiday.
Detroit
The annual Monster's Ball takes place at the historic Fillmore. Watch live circus performers, dance to DJs, and feast on a midnight pizza buffet! This 21+ event is boozy and bubbly — dress to impress and be ready to celebrate with fellow monsters for hours on end. Tickets are selling fast, so be sure to grab yours soon.
However you choose to celebrate Halloween this year, please do so safely and with proper planning. Agree beforehand on how you will get home — ride services like Uber often offer deals for the weekend, and some events give designated drivers discounted ticket rates. Have a spooky and safe holiday!
